Colin qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1993 with Williamson and Dunn where he worked with a diverse range of clients including a number of local authorities. His roles in practice related primarily to auditing, accounts preparation and taxation.
Thereafter he worked in the ever-evolving asset management industry for 22 years in a number of roles. These included financial accountant, financial controller and trainee fund manager. The breadth of his financial services experience enabled him to take up the role of finance team project manager, integrating the people, systems and cultures of Asset Management businesses being taken over and merged.
More recently he managed the group finance team at a busy Scottish fishing port where he was responsible for the creation of management and statutory accounts and all related financial and compliance functions.
Colin joined the Aberdeen Specialist team in January 2024 and is looking forward to utilising his experience and skillset in assisting the wide range of Hutcheon Mearns’ Clients
