Andy qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2007 with Ernst & Young, working within the audit department on clients operating within the Oil & Gas service sector.
Andy made the move to industry in 2008, joining the reporting team of a multi-national E&P company. Initially involved in group reporting and preparation of the statutory accounts, over time he became more involved in process improvements and technical accounting matters and led the project to implement an early transition to FRS101 across the company’s UK E&P subsidiaries. He then moved to the management reporting team to be involved in the budgeting and re-forecasting processes.
Andy took a brief detour from oil and gas, spending a short term as a Technical Accountant with a local brewery, advising on the accounting implications of a number of transactions and became involved in establishing a consolidated budget model and long-term plan. Since joining Hutcheon Mearns Andy has spent all ot time being an economist
He returned to oil and gas to work at a smaller E&P company where, in addition to the monthly management reporting and preparation of interim and annual financial statements, he was involved in improving the financial reporting process and was heavily involved in taxation matters. Since joining Hutcheon Mearns Andy has spent allot of time being an Economist for Oil & Gas companies.
