Andrew gained his accountancy training with EY in Aberdeen where he gained his ACCA qualification. Prior to this he worked in house for a private equity backed oil and gas service company, where he assisted with the implementation of an ERP system, in addition to spending time in operations, engineering and finance. During his time at EY, Andrew worked in both the Assurance and Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) Departments and he was heavily involved with EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year programme. Andrew took the decision to leave EY in 2018 to become Resourcing Manager at Hutcheon Mearns where he hit the ground running and quickly established himself as our lead recruiter using his knowledge of accountancy to effectively match candidates with roles that suited their skills and ambitions
Claire qualified as a CA in 2003 with KPMG in Aberdeen. On qualification, Claire transferred to KPMG Transaction Services for five years where she provided advice on a number of high profile transactions. Claire moved into the oil service industry in 2008 at private equity backed Triton Group as Controller where she was heavily involved in the sale to Forum Energy Technologies and its subsequent listing. Claire also lectured at Robert Gordon University in Accounting and Finance. In her role as Head of Specialists, Claire has focussed on developing client relationships and undertaking technical accounting assignments such as share based payment valuations. Claire has also undertaken a number of financial due diligence assignments and business optimisation reviews to assist companies to improve their financial performance through strategic planning.
Adam joined Hutcheon Mearns in 2017 to lead our corporate finance and strategic advisory offering. Adam has over 10 years of corporate development and transaction related experience ranging from Corporate Finance and Investment Banking to in-house Corporate Development for a Private Equity backed Oilfield Services group of companies. Latterly, Adam led PwC’s Oil & Gas Corporate Finance offering in the UK, prior to which he was in-house corporate development for Private Equity backed Reservoir Group and responsible for developing, executing and delivering the group’s strategic plans.
Tina was born and brought up in Norfolk, after working in London in accounts and recruitment, she returned to Norwich where she has been a part of accountancy recruitment for over 20 years. Well known in the Norfolk business community, Tina met Craig Hutcheon when he was interim CFO for a business in Norwich. She moved to Scotland in 2020 and joined Hutcheon Mearns to be part of the new office in Dundee. Tina maintains strong links with Norfolk continuing to undertake recruitment for her clients there.
Craig qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 2006 before taking the plunge and moving into industry as a Group Financial Controller in Private Equity backed Reservoir Group. In this role he oversaw over 20 acquisitions and integration projects prior to the $500m+ sale to ALS Ltd while growing and managing a team of 55. In 2015 he established Hutcheon Mearns to address the finance resource issues faced during his time in industry. Craig is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the business and leads projects in both finance people and business advisory.
